Spots such as cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, hotels, grocery stores, a liquor store, post office, art museum, library and conference centre can be found in Whistler Village, the heart of Whistler. Many events and outdoor concerts are held at the Olympic Plaza, which was the awards ceremony venue during the Olympics.

The Olympic Plaza was the venue for award ceremonies during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. There are many events held here throughout the year. When there are no events, the space is open for the public and from the large field, you can get a spectacular view of the mountains.

Whistler Blackcomb is a ski resort with vast and varied courses and was selected as one of the venues for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. There are various environments where you can improve your skills, such as courses for mogul skiing, downhill skiing, snowboard parks, half pipes, border cross courses, etc.

Whistler Secondary School is located about a 10 minutes bus ride away from the main village area. There are about 300 students in total and about 30 students per class. The school takes advantage of Whistler's environment and has many classes integrated with sports. They have special events at times, such as dance parties and concerts.

There are various facilities here, such as a sports gym, fitness hall, stretching room, a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, skating rink and squash courts.

Shared Housing
You may be either placed with a Canadian family, or you will be sharing a house with other people. Meals are not provided so you will have to prepare your own meals.
Homestay
You will stay with a local Canadian family. Accommodation fees include food (3 meals per day), but depending on the family, some may provide all meals, others may only provide dinner and expect you to take breakfast and lunch freely using their food. The style and rules will depend on each family.
